Yes, its true... You can actually Polish Peelable Paint.

As this is a 'removable' product, the consensus is that you can't really do much with it. Have a quick look at the results having sanded and polished the fender / wing on this Porsche GT3 RS.

The most cringe sounding test we have done to date. Having 20 people at SEMA watching us do didn't even allow a sweat to break because we just knew how tough our products are.
