How Much Does ClarityCoat Cost?

Adam Huber

One of the most common questions we get is, ‘how much will ClarityCoat cost to put on my car?’

And the answer is; it depends.

ClarityCoat does not set pricing, so our Installers can price according to their market and skill level.

Are you looking for clear protection like this?

Clear Protection

ClarityCoat is one of the only peelable paints on the market that is almost perfectly optically clear, allowing our Installers to apply ClarityCoat in clear protection form—making ClarityCoat a great alternative to installing paint protection film.

This is not ideal as it means there will be edges and lines that will take away from the vehicle’s appearance. It also creates a vulnerable spot where the product may lift.

ClarityCoat clear protection as a general rule of thumb will be the around same cost as a paint protection film install from an experienced shop.

Colour Change

Using ClarityCoat for a colour change like in the images below, on the other hand, is a different animal altogether.

All of our Installers and Distributors are very capable of making any design or idea you have come to life.

This also means that the costs can vary wildly depending on the vehicle, design choice, and even sometimes the colour.

For a simple colour change like the vehicle above, costs can range from USD 5,000 to USD 7,000.

But if you are looking for something more custom like this Porsche GT3 RS, we did-

Then your cost will be considerably higher because of the unique design and the labour involved in making it happen. A customer could expect to pay USD 10,000 or more for this kind of work.

This might seem expensive for colour changes, especially when you compare them to vinyl wraps, but there are some important considerations to keep in mind;

  • Vinyl doesn't look as good as paint does
  • Vinyl is thin, meaning it is very easy to chip
  • Vinyl fades
  • Depending on the vehicle, you will have seams or edges

ClarityCoat fixes all of these problems by;

  • Using real paint
  • Being 250-300 microns thick (8 mils)
  • Using automotive-grade clear coat to protect against UV fade
  • Spraying allows for a seamless install

Repaint?

Some people might ask, ‘what about repainting the vehicle?’

Doing a high-quality repaint can easily be double the cost of doing ClarityCoat because of all the prep work involved in removing the factory paint.

ClarityCoat is faster and cheaper because there is NO SANDING of the factory paint. It is left completely unharmed.

There is also the other problem of when you repaint the vehicle there is no protection for your new paint job! So now you have to go to another shop and pay even more money to install paint protection film, not to mention going without your car for a couple of days to a week.

When you do a colour change with ClarityCoat, you get a new colour and get protection with it.

Conclusion

So as you can see, there isn’t a straightforward answer to the question ‘how much does ClarityCoat cost.’

But we are confident that if you talk to our Installers, they are more than capable of answering any questions you might have about your new colour design!
